How We Handle Your Data
We keep it simple — because we don't do anything complicated with your information.
This privacy policy explains what personal data Pebbles collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR. We're a small local business and we genuinely don't do anything clever or opaque with your data.
Pebbles is a dog waste removal service based in York, North Yorkshire. We trade as Pebbles (also known as Pebbles Collection). You can contact us at:
When you submit a contact form or quote request on our website, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, postcode, and any details about the service you're interested in. We use this to respond to your enquiry and provide a quote.
When you join a waitlist for an area where we're not yet operating, we collect your email address. We use this only to contact you when we launch in your area. We will send you one email when we open bookings there and then remove your address from the waitlist unless you become a customer.
If you become a Pebbles customer, we hold your name, address, contact details, and service details (such as gate access information) for the purpose of delivering your service. We also send you a photo confirmation after each visit.
Our website may use basic analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are most visited and how people find us. This data is aggregated and anonymised and is not linked to any individual unless you have given consent for personalised tracking via your browser settings.
Under UK GDPR, we need a legal basis to process personal data. The bases we rely on are:
We use your data to:
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not send marketing emails unless you are an existing customer or have explicitly signed up to hear from us.
We share your data only where necessary to operate:
We do not use any other third-party marketing platforms, CRM software, or data brokers.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email us at pickuppebbles@gmail.com. We'll respond within one month.
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies on this website. We group them into two categories:
These are needed for the site to work — for example, remembering that you've made a cookie choice, or handling form submissions. They don't track you and don't require consent under UK law.
When you visit the site for the first time, you'll see a banner asking whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Nothing in this category loads unless you click Accept. The tools we use in this category are:
If you click Reject, neither of these will load and no analytics or advertising data will be collected from your visit. You can change your mind at any time by clicking Cookie settings, or by clearing your browser storage for this site.
You can also block cookies directly in your browser. The ICO has guidance on how to do this at ico.org.uk.
We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure. Our website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are handled via Web3Forms' secure infrastructure. Customer data held in our business systems is accessible only to the Pebbles team.
We may update this policy occasionally. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If we make significant changes, we'll note them here.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — the UK's data protection regulator. You can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We'd always prefer you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern directly.
